Reflection About Scratch

In Scratch I created many different and cool projects. But my favorite one to create was my first project and it was a parody of the new movie Avatar. I haven't seen the movie but to me it doesn't look like a movie I would ever want to see. Anyway I created this parody in scratch using many different tools and scripts. I took 2 different Sprites and colored them blue. Making this project was really fun but also frustrating. Since the Sprites would be talking to each other I had to have the right timing for everything. From moving at the right time to having one of the sprites die at the right time. I did have some trouble with that but other than timing Scratch was pretty easy to comprehend and use. I had never used Scratch before so I used many different tools, such as some of the scripts for example, forever if, forever, when clicked, stop all, and many more. I tried using Pen too, but that got very confusing and difficult for one of my projects and in the end I was not able to use it. There are many tools in Scratch that I still haven't used. But I know I'll be exploring Scratch more and I will want to use those tools I haven't used before. In my Avatar project I found wait how many seconds was my most helpful because it had the Sprites wait a certain amount of seconds before saying or doing anything. And it was perfect to get my animation to work right. Overall I really liked Scratch and I can't wait to use it more.

Defintions of ELs

Innovation, innovation is a new way to use or do something. For example: eating peas with a fork instead of a spoon, I know most people like to eat peas
with a spoon. But a new way to eat peas is with a fork.

Collaboration, collaboration is when two or more people come together to share ideas and either create a project or take each others idea's and make something with them. Or create something new or make a thing better. For example two people had the idea to mix dog breeds, like the poodle and the labador, or the golden retriever and the poodle. They decided on each others idea's and came up with a very cute dog.

Information fluency, information fluency is when new technology is used to help kids or new generations to learn more efficintley. For example the computer, instead of looking up information in a book which takes too much time. Students now use the internet to find information quickly and reliable.

Critical Thinking, critical thinking is when someone reflects or gives a personal response to an experience, an observation, or something like that. For example democrats and republicans both have different opinions about Global Warming, just from observing

Decision Making, decision making is when a person takes many steps and goes threw a mental process to get to a conclusion. For example seeing a problem and deciding what to do.

Digital Citizenship, digital citizenship is a type of concept to help older generations teach the newer generations how to interact on the internet and with newer technology appropreitly. For example to not say mean things on Facebook or MySpace or anything like that.

Technology Operations and Concepts, technology operations and concepts is the understanding of the skills needed and the concepts of technology. For example teachers now a days have started to use more technology and teaching kids how to use it and understand it, such as Blogger. Mrs. Casey in 8th grade taught the 8th grade science class how to blog on Blogger to get out our information that we have learned.
